Romualdo Lafuente y Pardo

, 1820 Politician / Artist / Writer

Actor, theater entrepreneur, journalist and politician. He was part of several conspiracies in the 1860s and had to go into exile to Lisbon. He led the Iberian Legion, which followed Giuseppe Garibaldi and Giuseppe Mazzini during the Italian unification and independence. Lafuente participated actively in the 1868 Gloriosa Revolution and was a member of the Seville Parliament in 1872 and 1873.

Lafuente was an actor and theater entrepreneur at the Teatro Municipal de Santa Cruz de Tenerife (now Teatro Guimerà) since its foundation in 1851. Ha was also the editor of several Madrid newspapers: El Huracán, La voz del Pueblo, La Discusión and El Pueblo. He was the director of La Bandera Roja. He is the author of several books and plays.
