Anna Costal i Fornells

Musicologist and musician, she has a degree (2004) and a PhD (2014) in Musicology by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She teaches at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). She coordinates the Official Master’s Degree in Music Research and the Research Group in Cultural and Musical Studies (2021 SGR 00454) of the same institution. She has participated in research projects directed by Jaume Ayats on chants of oral tradition in Catalonia and in Corsica. Her main research fields are popular music in the 19th century and Catalan music heritage.
