Lluís Cutchet i Font

Llívia, 1815 – Barcelona, 1892 Writer

Journalist, historian, writer and one of the promoters of La Renaixença catalana. Some of his poetry was published in Antoni de Bofarull’s Los trobadors nous (The New Troubadours 1858) and Victor Balaguer’s Los trobadors moderns (The Modern Troubadours 1859). Lluís Cutchet i Font was a juror at the 1876 Jocs Florals (Floral Games). He was politically close to regionalist liberalism and a supporter of economic protectionism.
