Innocenci López i Bernagossi

Girona, 1829 – Barcelona, 1895 Politician

Editor and politician. López i Bernagossi edited almanacs such as Un tros de Paper, Lo Noi de la Mare and Frederic Soler “Pitarra”’s Sanglots Poètics. He was the founder of La Campana de Gràcia and L’Esquella de la Torratxa, two of the most emblematic satirical publications in Catalonia during the 19th century.

López i Bernagossi took part in the 1868 Gloriosa Revolution and the Revolutionary Board of Barcelona. In 1873, he was appointed director general of the Post Office in Cuba.
