Francesc Suñer i Capdevila

Roses, 1826 – Roses, 1898 Politician

Doctor and politician. Suñer published, together with Clavé and Monturiol, Almanaque Democrático, in which he defended atheism and anticlericalism. He participated in the revolt of 1866 and went into exile in France until 1867. He also participated in the Revolution of 1868, was deputy mayor of the Junta Revolucionària de Barcelona and a member of the Parliament in the province of Girona. After the Bourbon Restoration he devoted himself to medicine.
