Fernando Pierrard Alcedar

Zamora, 1821 – Madrid, 1892

Progressive military man. He was part of the body of grenadiers of the royal guard and he was promoted from lieutenant to captain in 1840. In 1842, he suppressed the insurrection of Barcelona, ​​and later had several destinations. He was imprisoned for political reasons 1866 and was expelled from the army. He went into exile in France and in 1868, hes was rewarded and appointed brigadier. He was once more expelled from the army because he supported the Republican uprising of 1869. In 1873, during the First Spanish Republic, he was promoted to field marshal and secretary general of the Ministry of War. In 1873, he was also a deputy.
