Pedro Roca.

Description

Josep Anselm Clavé received this telegram while he was governor in Castellón.

Pedro Roca informs Clavé that he has to leave for Valencia.

Roca was part of an uprising in the province of Murcia. He was an “intransigeant” republican, meaning that he was in favor of the establishment of the Republic without the need of a Federal Constitution, from the ground up. The Republican party was divided between “intransigents,” “centrists” (Pi y Margall) and “moderates” (Emilio Castelar and Nicolás Salmerón).
