Letters by Clavé ⟶ Banishment

Exiled in France, 1869-1870.

Clavé sent a series of letters while he was in exile in Madrid and France (Marseille and Lyon) in 1867, 1869 and 1870. In these letters, we access the world of Republicans in exile (Pau Alsina Rius is with him in Lyon). He describes the difficulties he encounters, especially economic and linguistic, and describes the French cities in which he lives.
